Rope Bowl and Rope Coasters Class
Rope bowls are so fun and addicting to make. In this beginning Rope Bowl class you will learn the basic techniques to make a bowl and coasters or a basket.
They make great quick and easy gifts great for the holidays or housewarming. We will use basic rope and if time, we will discuss/show how to Wrap the rope with beautiful fabrics to match any décor. You will learn several different options for finishing and baskets may be made larger or smaller once the techniques are learned.
Items needed:
Machine in good working order with zig zag capability.
Basic sewing notions: scissors, tweezers, seam ripper, etc.
Cotton Cording Rope 3/16 - ¼” (Braided rope is easier to work with) (Rope can be purchased at Quilters’ Hollow)
Denim needle- size 80 or 90
Open Toe Foot or Double Welt Cord Foot (if you have one)
Cotton thread to match rope or contrasting thread with prewound bobbins to match
Variegated thread could be used also
Scissors that you do not use for cutting fabric.
Stylus or the Purple Thang is really helpful
Fabric Glue or Fabric Glue Stick
Fabric marking pen
Straight pins
Ruler
